NMLS-Approved Pre-License - License Application

To get the loan originator license, the candidate can review the NMLS website for further details on locating the state licensing requirements and obtaining a checklist of what is required to get started with the state the candidate is looking to be licensed. Further details of requirements needed before applying to the NMLS can be viewed on the NMLS website on their Professional Standards webpage.

After a candidate completes their requirements of passing their Pre-License education, passing the National SAFE MLO test, and completing their background check/credit check, they will be eligible to apply for the license with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS). The submission of the individual form (MU4) is the form that serves as the application for the license through NMLS. Candidates should review the checklist and the Getting Started webpage on the NMLS website for further prerequisites, license fees, and the process.
