NMLS-Approved Continuing Education – Course Final Exam FAQs

Students may have questions about taking their course final exam with our school. See examples of questions below:

Q: Can I see my score?

A: Yes, after submitting the exam, a score is provided.

Q: Can I go back and review my answers before submitting them?

A: Yes, the student can return to any answered questions and review all their answers before submitting their exam.

Q: Is the exam timed?

A: No.

Q: Can I retake the exam if I fail?

A: Students are permitted six attempts to pass the course final, and each exam will be different.

Q: How many questions are on the exam?

The number of questions on course final exam information depends on the course taken.

For the 7 Hour SAFE Core & 8 Hour SAFE Comprehensive OSS CE Courses, there are 30 multiple-choice questions.

For the 3 Hour New York State-Specific OSS CE course, there are 25 multiple-choice questions.

For all Other State-Specific OSS CE courses, there are 15 multiple-choice questions.

Q: What is the passing score for the final exam?

A: Passing score is 70% or higher.

Q: What happens if I fail all six final exam attempts?

A: After failing all six final course attempts, the course will fail, and the student will need to re-enroll in the course. For re-enrollment, it will be required to complete all the coursework, and the student will need to pay for the cost of the course tuition (minus the NMLS reporting fee).

Q: I completed my exam, but my course still says In Progress?

A: Once all modules are completed in the learning management system, the course will update from In Progress to Passed within the business day. Once passed, an e-mail with the certificate of completion will be sent within two business days.
