A broker license is required for any person or business entity who transacts real estate brokerage business for compensation as an agent for another is needed to hold a real estate license.
To qualify for an individual real estate broker license, a person must do the following:
- Applicant be 18 years of age or older.
- Be a United States citizen, a non-citizen national, or a qualified non-citizen under federal law or be authorized to work in the US.
- Have a Social Security Number.
- Satisfy the required education requirements.
- File eligibility application with a completed background check.
- Pass the state-licensing examination.
- Possesses the requisite character for licensure.
