IL Long Term Care Course Information

In addition to offering education to renew an insurance license, Real Estate Institute also provides courses to sell and maintain Long Term Care.

Long Term Care (Partnership) Training

Long Term Care (Partnership) Training Required course includes 8-hours of general credit and is offered as a Self-Study course. Self-Study courses allow students to define their course of study and then demonstrate proficiency by passing the final exam.

For an individual to sell a Long Term Care product, they must have a health insurance license and complete an 8-hour Long Term Care Training course that this course will satisfy. This course is a requirement to complete to start selling Long Term Care, and then in every subsequent renewal, an individual will have to complete a 4-hour Long Term Care course.

The book is available as an online PDF in their student portal and a physical book can be requested to be mailed upon enrollment.  The book can be viewed before registration by requesting it to be shipped, or the online PDF book can be viewed from our website.

An exam is required for this self-study course, and a passing score of 70% or higher is required. The final exam will consist of 30 multiple choice questions and is an open book exam. Once the final exam is passed, a certificate of completion will be e-mailed within 1-2 business days.

Long Term Care and Alternative Funding course includes 4-hours of general credit and is offered as a Self-Study course. Self-Study courses allow students to define their course of study and then demonstrate proficiency by passing the final exam.

For an individual to sell a Long Term Care product, they must have a health insurance license and complete an 8-hour Long Term Care Training course, and then in every subsequent renewal; an individual will have to complete a 4-hour Long Term Care course. This course will satisfy the 4-hour requirement to maintain selling Long Term Care for every renewal.
